It is recommended to use more standardized "national standard forged" wire rope clips.

For critical applications, "cast" wire rope clips are not recommended:

1. Defects such as blowholes, sand inclusions, porosity, and cracks that occur during general casting cannot be completely avoided.

2. According to the national standard GB/T5976-2006 (Page 7. Technical Requirements), when rope clips are used for lifting machinery, forged rope clips are preferentially recommended (with current manufacturing processes, forging is superior to casting). The use of malleable iron, nodular iron, and other cast iron clip seat wire rope clips is not recommended.

a Characteristics of cast rope clips: relatively low density and slightly lighter weight. Poor control of the casting process (cast steel) can lead to defects such as blowholes and sand inclusions. If it is a gray iron casting, some smaller specifications, such as those below #18, have been known to break under manual hammering.
